It has something for everyone who reads it.The author, Dr. Alice Rogerson, explains how she went through a miscarriage in the opening chapter. 'I had my one small, terrible moment with a miscarriage. Then I was pregnant again, and I went through another miscarriage.'After the story about her first miscarriage, she goes on to describe some of the pain she experienced after her second miscarriage, and she provides short paragraphs describing how this experience affected her. She also talks about what happened with the miscarriages. There are many topics in the essay, but the main ones are abortion, cancer, infertility, breast cancer, treatments, and emotional pain. Dr. Rogerson discusses all of these in short paragraphs.She talks about a test she took to see if she was fertile at an Ob/gyn clinic in Phil adelphia. 'When I went to get the test done, I was so angry that they told me I was not fertile. The test was a small computerized device that you put on your abdomen. At that point, I had not even conceived yet, so the test made no sense.'There are some interesting facts about Dr. Rogerson in her Sample of My Personal Experience Essay. She explained that she had been trying to get pregnant for years but was unable to. She explained that she had gone to a lot of doctors but could not find anything that would help her get pregnant. 'By the time I learned about fertility drugs, I was ready to give up.'
